The Lurie Garden’s Salvia RiverThe Lurie Garden’s Salvia River mimics a flowing river in shape and undulation. Four different varieties of 2,000 salvia plants bloom just a few days apart, causing a colorful stir in the “river bed.” Varying shades of purple and blue brighten The Lurie Garden beginning in early May and into June. One of the best views is from the top floors of surrounding buildings. (Photo by Linda Oyama Bryan) |
