Kenosha Civil War Museum
Conveniently located on the shores of Lake Michigan in downtown Kenosha, Wis., the Civil War Museum opened in June 2008 to uniquely showcase the Civil War connections between the Upper Midwest home front and the battle front. Through state-of-the-art technology, life-size diorama, and interactive exhibits, visitors travel back in time to hear the stories behind the Civil War’s social, political and economic influences on the Upper Midwest. The 15,000-sq.-ft. gallery uses audio and video technology to showcase Civil War artifacts. Life-scale, interactive exhibits bring the relevancy of the Civil War to modern day experiences. The Civil War Museum is accredited by the American Association of Museums and is a Smithsonian Affiliate.
